Lincoln returns to his farmstead, where he sees vampires lurking in the forest. He prepares a crossbow, but before he can shoot, the vampires attack. Lincoln defeats the vampires, but Vadoma escapes the battle. Eventually, Lincoln gains her trust and, together with his friend and ex-fiancée, Joshua Speed, they kidnap Vadoma.
Vadoma then warns Lincoln that the vampires live merely in the spirit world and conduct their affairs there, but they can travel between the worlds at will. She also tells Lincoln that Vadomasau, a vampire who attempted to kill Anastasia, has a plan to kill him and to rule over one or both of the worlds.
The next day, Lincoln and Speed, accompanied by a townspeople who come to Lincoln's aid, ride to Barts' plantation. There, they and an army of vampire hunters confront Barts and his vampire henchmen. Barts kills Lincoln's horse and knocks Lincoln from his horse. However, Speed, who has the vampire weakness, and two townspeople, show up just in time to help him. Barts captures Lincoln, but Speed fights with him and Lincoln escapes. Barts uses the Battle Axe of Radak, which Lincoln had with him earlier, to kill Speed and other people. Barts then flees, leaving Lincoln with Speed at the plantation. Lincoln rests there for a while, but a vampire reveals himself to be Dr. Gedney. He sedates and tortures Speed and returns to the plantation, where vampires kill Speed and one townspeople. He also injects a vial full of Vampire Blood, which Speed had brought with him, into Lincoln's body. This creates the bloodsucker part of his nature, allowing him to remain on Earth as a vampire.
A few hours later, Barts returns to the plantation. Lincoln flees the plantation, explaining that the pain overpowers him. However, while he is feeding on a cow, a vampire attacks and injects him with vampire blood. d2c66b5586
