Executive Team Alignment

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that

allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

~ Andrew Carnegie

Executives spend much time, energy and money on new strategies. Then they let these same strategies become mere shadows of what they originally envisioned through poor execution – not because they do not have the desire, the will or the right people, but because they just have not developed an organizational culture of disciplined execution.

Most CEOs pay little attention to the state of the executive team. In fact, calling most executive groups 'teams' would be a stretch of the imagination since by definition a team is a group of people who are working on some common end together. And the idea that a group of executives are going to be able to achieve successful fulfillment without meaningfully engaging the next levels of leadership and the rest of the organization is ludicrous.

The Power of an Executive Team Alignment on Discovering and Managing Execution is a workshop that will dramatically improve performance in your organization and immediately put you on the path to your best year ever achieving top results in your industry. This event is typically a one-day intensive workshop for senior executives (Executive Team). The workshop is broken into three key categories:

1. Discovering Execution

  • What does it mean to "discover execution" when everyone knows what execution is?  It means transforming a vague notion of execution as a good skill to have into realizing how critical and radical mastering execution can be for both individuals and organizations in terms of what they can and do accomplish.

  • Execution - once discovered - can turn into a journey to mastery. The Age of Execution is upon us and the journey is still a "road less taken" but one that will benefit travelers for the rest of their lives.

  • Until one discovers execution...there is nothing to manage!

2. Managing Execution

  • Execution needs to be managed just as finances need to be managed.

  • Managing execution is a discipline of its own. In big companies and small ones, it is the critical discipline for success now. Knowing how to plan and execute while overcoming the daily surprises that always seem to get in the way in the most important core competency an organization can have.

  • No matter how you slice it, execution happens at an individual level. Organizations don't execute, departments don't execute, teams don't execute...only individuals execute.

3. Leadership through the Lens of Execution

  • Managing execution down to an individual level, takes a different kind of leadership. It's leadership through the lens of execution.

  • The journey to mastery of execution takes commitment, and you'll get better and better at it from the very beginning.

  • The biggest hurdle to an organization's mastery of execution is the lack of courage and commitment on the part of the senior executive. Without strong leadership from the top, it's not going to happen.
